Healthy, progressive and efficient language learning methods for overall self-development.

Consider learning a second language for your own personal benefit, but make it fun.

Gorgeous gorgeous girls expand their knowledge, find new ways to assert themselves, study, implement new and disciplined routines. If you’re that girl who loves culture, language and people this blog is for you ❤️

Whether it’s occurring from an academic perspective, trying to expand your education, or from a more creative perspective of testing yourselves, one of the top reasons to learn a language is for self-development.

Nowadays, having another language gives you a much wider pool of opportunity. You could work with an international company, clients, or even get a base in another country.

Without further ado .. 💁🏽

My tips for a language learning study plan

Immersion is arguably the most effective way to learn a language. You should surround yourself with the language and listen to it, as much as you can. Immersion-based learning is indeed the most natural way to pick up new words, phrases, and expressions.

Create a separate YT channel strictly for your target language.

Use sticky notes to label things around the home.

Listening skills all day! Check out TED TALK on language learning.

When it comes to the best ways to learn a language, it’s important to know that you need to find the most effective way to learn a language that works best for you. Although the guidelines we mentioned today are relevant for everyone, you need to pay attention to your learning habits as well.

Practice. When it comes to learning a foreign language, you need to use it. Even if you’re a beginner, you need to use the language as much as you can. Challenge yourself, have conversations with yourself, talk to yourself in the mirror. Find what works best for you 😄

When it comes to staying on track and practising regularly, it’s easier said than done. But there’s one thing you can do to make sure you don’t give up – make your learning process interesting and fun. Try playing games, solving quizzes, and doing interactive exercises.

What should I be reading to actively maximise my language learning?

Read aloud rather than silently in your head. Working on your language listening skills helps you mimic sounds for speaking. Reading helps you recognize more vocabulary and grammar structures.

When you read intensively, you read at your pace or very slowly with a strong focus on comprehending everything whether that be grammar, vocab or pronunciation.

It takes a lot of dedication to read in a foreign language, therefore if something does interpret your enthusiasm towards learning, stop immediately and take some time to rest.

Having a great balance between intensive and excessive reading is crucial. This makes the learning process more relevant and burdening.

The idea here is that vocab and grammar points that appear continuously eventually become internalised due to repetition, and by that you absorb more by reading for pleasure rather than having to "study" actively.

Maximise reading with:

  • children's books ~ reading along at your own pace and out loud.

  • music lyrics

  • Repeating instantly after the audio forces you to say what you're hearing rather than what you thought you should be hearing.

  • change language settings on your phone ~ essentially this encourages you, “forces” you to read these words out loud as well as comprehend them.

  • Create your own journal dedicated to your target language ~  only write and read aloud in that language.

  • If you're feeling brave, news pages on a topic you recognise or resonate with can be great.

  • finding yourself a language partner ~ fellow apps such as hellotalk is a great start.

These flowing tips allow you to read in your target language for longer periods, don’t worry about how you sound because you’re not a native  and learning this new language is fun right? 😊👭

The more you become comfortable with reading out loud or repeating your favourite phrases, you will find you will be able to carry on your conversation(s).

Tips for learning a language (things i wish i knew before i started)

  • Find out what works best for you.

  • Set clear goals.

  • Immersion, Immersion, Immersion!

  • Rewire your mind. Be open to culture and customs and the importance of language & communication.

  • Start with an open mind.

  • Make learning fun and aligned with your interests.

  • No rush, consistency matters most.

  • Take regular breaks for as long as you need.

  • Don’t force it, do what you can.

  • Speaking out loud as early on as possible.

  • Don't compare your speaking, listening skills to anyone else.

  • Little work is better than no work. If you haven't the time to write as much, immersion through audio and podcasts are heavenly beneficial.

  • Bullet journal dedicated to your target language
